About the painting:
Two of Hearts began in my effort to personify the heart. We often overlook the condition of our heart, so by giving it an identity we make the heart unforgettable. I wanted to emphasize the duality, through the two. As we have our conscious and unconscious aspects of the heart. Our heart holds many things in twofold — light and darkness, strength and weakness, passion and affliction. The Two of Hearts.
My color palette was limited to warm shades of cadmium red, yellow, and crimson oil paint. With soft glazes of transparent reds layered over for a glowy effect.
